GEOPARK ARARIPE OPEN SELECTION PROCESS FOR INTERNSHIP SCHOLARSHIPS

It is open 20 selection notice (twenty) new scholarships for the Geopark Araripe until June 17, notice that includes all undergraduate courses of the Regional University of Cariri / URCA. PREPARATIONS FOR EXPOCRATO 2016

The Regional University of Cariri (URCA) by Dean of Extension (PROEX) and by the Geopark Araripe, published three (3) bids in order to organize the exhibition: "Pulses in the context of Geopark Araripe" This will be. the 11th thematic exhibition that traditionally takes place in the period of the greatest Agricultural fair Cariri Region, the EXPOCRATO, and will be mounted on Interpretation and Environmental Education Center (CIEA) Araripe Geopark.
 

It inform the choice of this theme was given due to the year 2016 has been declared by the United Nations (UN) as the International Year of Pulses. Thus, all actions promoted aim to promote awareness of the importance of these foods on health promotion, nutrition, food security and environmental sustainability.
 

Among the announcements is the I URCA Award Cordel Literature: "Legumes in the context of food, health and regional development", with registration open until June 17 in PROEX. The best works will be gathered in a collection to be organized and may even be published later by LIRA NORDESTINA, with support from PROEX / URCA.
 

Another notice is open to the Photo Contest with the theme: "The Pulses in the context of Araripe Geopark." Registration will be online via email: concursogafoto2016urca@gmail.com until June 15, 2016.

Finally, the third notice is the Public Call No. 07/2016 aimed at granting stage 10 scholarships for a period of two (02) months to perform actions with the CIEA and VII Stage Sound URCA.

FESTIVAL CULTURE MORE, MORE TOURISM MISSÃO VELHA

On 26, 27 and 28 May took place in the city of Missão Velha / CE the festival "More Culture, More Tourism", organized by the Municipality of Missão Velha, through the Department of Culture and municipal tourism, with the aim of promoting the culture of the region.

The event had the support of Araripe Geopark, the Cariri Regional University and the Government of the State of Ceará, in addition to the SESC, Sebrae, Senac and Banco do Nordeste Cultural Center and attended by representatives of several municipalities. dance performances were made, theater, crafts, cuisine, film shows, concerts of local and regional bands and folk performances.

 

Many participants sought the stand of Geopark Araripe / URCA to participate in workshops, such as the replica of fossils and the soldier of Araripe, feel for the children who visited the site during the festival.

OFFICES OF ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION - GEOPARK ARARIPE PROJECT IN THE COMMUNITY

Within the Community in Geopark project, the Environmental Education Sector Geopark Araripe held this Saturday, June 4, in advance celebration of the "World Environment Day", soap workshops for women of Sunrise Valley community (Crato-CE ) in partnership with ICMBio, in which participants learn to make products that can be marketed.


It informed that the proposed project is to develop educational activities and promote the quality of life, approaching the Geopark of local communities. In addition to the workshop, other activities were carried out in the community, such as games and jokes, skin cleansing with clay and natural oil.

MID WEEK CRATO ENVIRONMENT

The opening of the Week of the Crato-CE in the city of Environment took place on June 5, World Environment Day, the chapel located in Chico Gomes community, the municipality itself, beginning with a track made with the participants, representatives of Geopark Araripe, Secult, Aquasis and the Association Chico Gomes.

​

The trail was held in a region where dwells the soldier of Araripe, endemic bird of the region, and had the distribution of copies of an unprecedented string that brings a story in which the soldier of Araripe conversation with a fossil bird found in Nova Olinda / CE . The string is titled "The baiting of sibito-of-stone against the soldier of Araripe".

TRIBUTE TO PROFESSOR ALEXANDER THE GREAT

The team Geopark Araripe is once again the public pay tribute to Professor Dr. Alexandre Magno Feitosa, who died in the early hours of May 29, and reiterate our full solidarity to the family and friends.

Geologist training (UFC), a paleontologist, a retired professor of Biological Sciences of the course of the Cariri Regional University, Professor Alexander pioneered, enthusiastic and very important in the creation of the Araripe Geopark and also helped in the management of the Museum of Paleontology URCA.

 

The teacher Alexandre Magno Feitosa our thanks. We hope to honor his memory by making a Geopark Araripe bigger, better and true to its values ​​and mission.
