Use of laminated limestone waste is

featured in the National Week of Science and

Technology / Infobrasil 21 years

Between 27 and 29 October there was the National Week of Science and Technology, under the theme: Light, Science and Life, the Legislative Assembly of Ceará, in the capital. The scope of the topic, the Geopark Araripeattended the event with exhibition of pieces related to Limestone reuse practices Laminate, from Geosite Pedra Cariri.

 

The parts are produced from the initiative of small artisans in the municipality of Nova Olinda, the workshop "Pedra sobre Pedra" and the Museum of Santana do Cariri. Among the pieces of craftsmen, one can find replicas of fossils of the kind found in the Crato Formation, made through a technique called lithography. Among the objects, in addition to replicas, there are gift boxes, pen holder, paperweight, necklaces, keychains, magnets, and more.

 

Another highlight of the Geopark Araripe stand were the fossil replicas of Romualdo Formation, made the replicas of fossils workshops at the Environmental Education Sector and the panel with the main actions that marked the Brazilian Geopark in its nine years of existence.

 

During the exhibition, passed by the local Assistant Secretary of SECITECE, Francisco Carvalho, the Director of the Academic Institute Business School Brazil, José Bezerra, students of primary and secondary education, other technical schools and higher city and region.

XVII Sport, Arts and Culture's Week of College São Francisco de Assis, surrounding geosite Colina do Horto

On the last day 27, in the vicinity of Geosite Colina do Horto, municipality of Juazeiro / EC, the St. Francis of Assisi College promoted the seventeenth week of Sport, Arts and Culture. The topic was "Sustainable Brazil: a look at the environment and the economy.

 

"At the time, representing the Geopark Araripe, researcher and developer Geopark Professor Rafael Celestino Soares, doctorate in Geology from the Federal University of Ceará, was invited to participate in a Round Table with Irapuan Cezar de Oliveira (NGOs lamp of trails in the municipality of Barbalha / EC), José Leite da Silva (President of the Association of Collectors Engenho Trash, Juazeiro county North / EC), Paulo Sergio Garcia (Environmentalist, retired from the UFC teacher), Aristotle Grangeiro Teles (physical educator, tour guide ecological, and active in adventure tourism activities), and Thiago Dantas (Professor of Geography, specialist in Geopolitics and History).

 

The Roundtable addressed environmental aspects, reflections on sustainability, reuse of materials and impacts on the economy. And the target audience were students of Primary Education II of the college, which stood out for active participation through questions to the components of the Bureau.

 

The Geopark Araripe congratulates the organizing committee of the event for the brilliant coordination between various experts in the field and the initiative to put students in touch with these discussions as important and necessary for the geoconservation of the Geopark Araripe Territory!

Practices of environmental education of Geopark Araripe

The Environmental Education Sector for the purpose of preservation, awareness and dissemination of Araripe Geopark through the project Environmental Education, "A journey through the history and culture of the territory of GeoPark Araripe", the Educate program, sponsored by SESC Crato, developed on 20 and 27 November, pedagogical workshops with the use of clay, emphasizing the importance of soil in the International Year of Soils (UNESCO).

 

Trainees of the Environmental Education Sector also developed the Replica Workshop fossils in order to preserve notions of work and awareness of fossil heritage.

 

The target audience were students at the Children's V.

TV Verdes Mares presents the geosite "Ponte de Pedra"

On the penultimate day of the month of October, the TV Verdes Mares - Cariri, made a report on the Geosite "Ponte de Pedra", which is located in Nova Olinda / CE.

 

At the time, the student of the Course of History of the Regional University of Cariri (URCA) and intern at the Geopark Araripe, Angelica Patricia and the children of the Casa Grande Foundation, attended the speaking subject, respectively on the legends of Geosites Geopark Araripe and the Legend of Portal Encantado, specific to the Stone Bridge.

 

To talk about the geological formation of this beautiful and curious bridge carved by the time the reporter Darlene Barbosa interviewed doctoral student in geology at the Federal University of Ceará, Professor and Senior Araripe Geopark, Rafael Celestino Soares. He told about how natural factors contributed to excavate the rock and thus form the bridge.

Territory of the Geopark Araripe is featured!

The TV Verdes Mares Cariri, which is affiliated to Rede Globo television, aired on October 20 a special report on one of Geosites Araripe Geopark, the Geosite waterfall Old Mission, located in the municipality codename.

 

The reporter Darlene Barbosa stressed the importance and beauty of the natural wealth of Cariri Cearense and the Legend of Princess Gloria, who, according to count, lived near the waterfall.

 

The report was to approach local economic development, based on the Iu shall hotel partner of Araripe Geopark, where it provides an ornate car for a pterosaur. The report team visitaou the waterfall Old Mission, focusing on the wealth of rocks, culture, place of mysticism.

First National Week of Science and Technology of Cariri

During the First Week of Science and Technology of URCA, trainees Araripe Geopark and Training School Profess Violeta Arraes, who perform compulsory training also in the Geopark, presented papers on activities that have been developed within the Geopark Araripe.

 

The work addressed the activities coming from the following sectors of the Geopark Araripe:

Administration: "Analysis of the Administrative Structure of the Geopark Araripe". Author: Intern Maria Cavalcante, Law Course student at the Regional University of Cariri (URCA), under the guidance of Rafael Celestino Soares.

 

Geoconservation: "Geodiversity and Aesthetic Values: Geosite Riacho do Meio in Ceará Araripe Geopark". Author: Trainee Osmanda Moura, a student of the URCA Biology Course, under the guidance of Rafael Celestino.

 

Environmental ed:. "Sharing Knowledge of Geosciences by GEA Project Earth Mother Araripe Geopark". Author: Trainee Kaio Sobreira Rolim, Course student of Physical Education of URCA, under the guidance of Mary Neuma Clemente Galvão.

 

"Pedagogical Practices of Youth Camps Araripe Geopark". Author: Antonio Nelson Araujo, a student of pedagogy course of URCA, under the guidance of Lazaro Ranieri Macêdo.

Culture: "Legends and Stories of the Geopark Araripe: The Imaginary People's historiography". Author: Trainee Angelica Patricia, History Course student at the URCA, under the guidance of Ana Isabel Ribeiro Parente Cortez.
