Araripe Geopark is home to
talk about photography and nature!

On 11 November, the Geopark Araripe hosted for Fabio Arruda (documentary, environmentalist, teacher, photography expert) talk about the art of photography and disseminate the project entitled "LAPSO".

 

One of the proposals of the LAPSO is to share knowledge and content on photography in order to address reflexive questions about the environment and digital photography, mixing art, science and technology, and encourage young people to sensitize the society about the importance of preserving and conserving nature.

 

The work is the result of the trips the artist made. Passionate about the Cariri traveled photographing more than 750 cities in 15 countries from all continents.

 

They attended the lecture, a group of deaf students, who had "translation" simultaneous sign language, as well as students of the SENAC / Crato, university students, business, photography lovers and photographers Cariri.

The 17th Mostra SESC Cariri Cultures
It happens in the Territory of the Geopark Araripe

Crato / EC, site of Geopark Araripe headquarters and where is the geosite Batateira, city known as the "Capital of Culture", played host to the 17th Mostra SESC between 13 and 17. It is a cultural event that takes place this Brazilian State for six continuous days with integration of artistic and cultural languages in the most different areas of creation and production.

 

The goal is to promote cultural exchange, development and cooperation between artists.

 

The event is open free to the public and contributes to the diffusion of culture and regional identity, without forgetting to link culture with the appreciation and preservation of the environmental heritage through educational activities.

 

The Mostra SESC is represented by one of the natural symbols of Cariri Region, "The Soldier-of-Araripe", an endemic bird of the region.

Participation of the GeoPark Araripe
in the Entrepreneur Fair Cariri

In the period from 25 to 28 November will take place in the Palace of Micro, SEBRAE of Juazeiro do Norte, the Entrepreneur Fair Cariri, with the theme "Opportunities to Innovate and Grow". And GeoPark Araripe participate as a partner, presenting business opportunities in its territory.

 

In that event, the Territorial Development Coordinator GeoPark Araripe, José Wilson de Lacerda, shall state initiatives that have worked well as sustainable entrepreneurship.

 

On this occasion will be presented the research material and study of the GeoPark Araripe such as: books, fossil replicas, videos on the territory, television and educational story that promote expanded knowledge about the region.

 

Being the first fair of entrepreneurship held in Ceará, the estimate for public is at least 6000 people since the Cariri Entrepreneur Fair is a very important event for the productive sector of the region. In addition, it is as a means of opportunities to exchange experiences and do business.

Sector Environmental Education and working with clay

On November 4, the Interpretation and Environmental Education Center - CIEA, the Crato municipality, welcomed the students of MES College of Crato.

 

At the time, was shown the institutional video about GeoPark Araripe "place where born the day."

 

Replicas workshops of fossils and a "contest" of working with clay, as part of activities according to the International Year of Soils were then performed.

 

The student who made the best sculpture with the material received an award with kit GeoPark Araripe.

 

This action participated 34 students with contribution of two teachers of School Lyceum, which helped in the tasks achievements.

 

Activities thus aim to strengthen the work of GeoPark Araripe in its various thematic components to be worked with the schools of the territory to encourage environmental education practices.
