"A bicycle ride through the territory of the Geopark Araripe"

The project Ciclotur the Araripe "A bicycle ride through the territory Geopark Araripe" was awarded by the Ministry of Tourism, at its meeting Good Practices in Tourism in 2015.
This project seeks to promote sustainable tourism in the Cariri Region with the use of trails on the plateau, using bicycles.

 

Recognition of the project is the result of a field collection for the composition of the Competitiveness Index of the National Tourism held in 65 tourist destinations in Brazil by supporting the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV) to the Ministry of Tourism (Tourism Ministry) and the National SEBRAE . The field goal was to identify actions and projects representing economy, mobilization and cooperation in tourist destinations.

 

According to the report on "Good Practices in Tourism / 2015," published by the Ministry of Tourism, in 2015 was in evidence the ability of companies and public authorities to take actions to reduce costs. And the ultimate goal of the collection made by the FGV is to support the Ministry of Tourism and Sebrae in disseminating success stories in different realities, focusing on territorial development and regional coordination. So to steer public policy and foster industry activities.

 

As a result of research, it identified more than 60 projects, of which 15 stood out from the professional looks allocated sector in the institutions involved. Among these, the tread, with the project Ciclotur the Araripe "A bicycle ride through the territory of the Geopark Araripe".

Tour as a reward for participation in the
II School Contest GEA-Mother Earth

On Friday, the 11th, the students who represented their schools in the II School Contest GEA-Earth Mother, did a tour that was scheduled as part of the event prize. The trip began with a visit to geosite Stone Bridge, the city of Nova Olinda / EC, which was explained geological formation and was told the existing legend there on the Enchanted Portal.

 

From there, students were taken to visit the Leather Museum, the store Expedito Saddler (famous for crafts in leather pieces such as hats, bags, sandals and other accessories for cowboys). Luis Gonzaga is considered the "King of Baiao", typical Brazilian and regional style of music. Then they went to the Casa Grande Foundation: Memorial Kariri Man. The space was presented by one of the children who lives in the Foundation. At the site, all lancharam to go to Santana do Cariri, where he visited the Museum of Paleontology. After this visit, the group returned to the county of origin, Crato.

 

The schools represented in the tour were: EEE State of Paraiba, EEFDom Quintino and EEEPRaimundo Saraiva Coelho.

Geopark Araripe, CREDE 18 and Formula Maximum course receives Social Responsibility Award - Education Action

In the last 16 days, the Geopark Araripe along with the Regional Coordination of Education Development (CREDE 18 - county Crato) and the Course Formula Maximum (Pre-Enem-Vest) received the award "Social Responsibility - Action Education" - edition 2015.

 

The award is the result of a lawsuit filed this year by a group of teachers who have taught voluntarily to students who could not afford to pay for private institutions courses to prepare them for the National High School Exam (ESMS) and the Vestibular. With the idea, private initiatives and bodies like the Geopark Araripe, contributed in various ways, to grant space for classes, materials and teachers from different areas. The implementation period more than 2000 students have been met.

 

For the group that created both the Pre-ENEM-Vest project as the Prize, the term "social responsibility" is understood as a commitment that a company and / or person has with the development and improvement of quality of life for employees, their families and general community.
