Galdino Master And Milk Janaguba

In the city of Crato a figure is highlighted by the way preserves the Araripe National Forest. Master Galdino, as it is popularly known, stands out for everyday actions that aim to preserve the diversity of Araripe. He exercises plant extraction with responsibility, sustainability and respect for nature. Master Galdino is a craftsman who collects the logs fallen on the paths running through and turns them into sculptures of birds, reptiles and animals.


He is also known for the Geosite Batateiras community for their "gifts" healer using the janaguba milk. Whenever you request, he enters the Araripe forest to collect nectar janaguba. The nectar or extracted milk is marketed to different places and gained fame for having healing properties of various ailments. The janaguba is a tree that belongs to the family of apocináceas, plumeria genre, has average size and produces a sap or nectar milky appearance that is extracted when you remove a piece of bark. This sap is preserved and can last up to 90 days. The collection is controlled by environmental agencies and persons qualified and authorized to function.

 

The highlight of this project is the amount of liters of milk janaguba extracted and sold per month, the number reaches up to 1000 liters of milk per month. According to the "folk medicine" this milk fights cancer, tumors, boils, edema, arthritis, is anthelmintic and laxative. The price of a bottle varies between R $ 13.00 and R $ 15.00.

Santa Cruz Cauldron Desert Will Seminar Theme

The "Cauldron of Santa Cruz" is located in the city of Crato, the territory of the Geopark Araripe. The site also known as the "Cauldron of the Jesuits" is the time of messianic movements that arose in the lands of Crato, Ceará. These movements extol the belief on the return of the envoy "Divine", which releases the evils caused by this world. The first leader of the "Cauldron of Santa Cruz" is called José Lourenço Gomes da Silva, known by the people as the Blessed Joseph Lawrence. In Cauldron, the pilgrims and immigrants were all working for the community and received a share of production. The community was guided at work, equality, and religion.


In order to stimulate debate on the Cauldron and encourage the creation of media and management strategies of the historical and cultural heritage, will be held the "Cauldron Seminary of the Holy Cross of the Desert". The event will take place in the period from 12 to 14 April in the Hall of Acts of the Regional University of Cariri (URCA) and the auditorium of the Araripe Geopark.


The Secretariat of the Crato City of Culture and the Regional University of Cariri-URCA by the Dean of Extension-PROEX, and the Araripe Geopark are the organizers of the event.
The seminar will be open to the public and those interested should register on the site itself URCA (www.urca.br) from March 21, Monday. In programming consists lecture, round tables, working meeting and technical visit.

 

Students And URCA Geopark The Trainee Araripe Have Work Supported In National Congress

Three students from Unit Decentralized Regional University of Cariri-URCA located in the municipality of Campos Sales (border of the State of Ceará and Piauí) had their work approved at the Fourth National Environmental Education Congress and VI Northeastern Meeting of Biogeography, to be held in I campus of the Federal University of Paraíba-UFPB in João Pessoa 20-23 April 2016.

 

Cicero Luannderson da Silva Alencar was approved with the work: "Ethnobotany perception of elementary school students II Quilombo Community Pond Creoles, Salitre -c ", directed by Professor Leila Kelly Pereira Dutra Taveira, Francisco Matheus Andrade Arrais, with the work:" Environmental Change and triatomid bugs invasion in households in the municipality of Sales-Ce Campos, Brazil ", under Professor Renato Ferreira Juciano ; and Katia Rodrigues Alves to "study the use of medicinal plants by Quilombola site Arruda community Araripe-CE", directed by Professor Sarah Ribeiro Alencar.


In addition to these works, the Araripe Geopark will also be represented with the the exposure of partial results of a survey entitled "Geoeducação: Environmental Education applied to Geoconservation", authored by Marcelo Matins Moura-Fé, teacher, Department of Geosciences - University Regional Cariri (URCA) and also a collaborator of the Araripe Geopark, with its advisees and intern of the Communication Sector and student of URCA Geography course, Bruna Almeida de Oliveira. The paper discusses the importance of geoconservation as a set of practices aimed at the conservation of geodiversity. One of these conservation practices is geoturística activity, a tourist segment geoscientific connotation that suggests organized and 


 

guided tour to places that witness a phase of the past or the history of the origin and evolution of the planet, which can be given in two strategic dimensions: the interpretation of the landscape and environmental education applied to the territory of Araripe Geopark.

Minister Debate Deployment of Digital Inclusion Project And Announces Seal of Commemorative 10 Years AraripeGeopark 

The Regional University of Cariri (URCA), Federal University of Cariri (UFCA) and the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Ceará (IFCE) are forming, with the Ministry of Communications, digital inclusion project, aimed at regional development. The meeting presentation by Digital Inclusion secretary of the ministry, Américo Bernardo, took place on the afternoon of March 17 in Molecular Bioprospecting Master auditorium URCA on campus pepper in Crato, with the presence of the Minister of Communications, André Figueiredo. At the time, he was welcomed by the Rector in the exercise of URCA Professor Francisco O Lima Junior.

 

 The Minister said that next week a special edition will be authorized in honor of the 10th anniversary of the Araripe Geopark, nine smaller labels and a central. The claim was made by URCA, about two months in minister's visit to the institution. Pro-rectors and representatives of related departments to the university computer industry were present.

 

He stressed that the intention is to provide a combined action in the development of research for the digital interconnection between municipalities in the region, which already have digital cities, through applications related to culture, as well as a chance to work on digital literacy of pilgrims.

 

This would be a pilot project, to be adopted later in other institutions, and according to the Minister, to extrapolate the state dimension.

"As the Cariri is a region that reaches other states of the federation, we have to make all actions, have the possibility to have here a center for reconditioning of computers, which is one of the ministry's projects," he said. André Figueiredo also stressed the importance of the university center, making room for the region to be a reference center for the Northeast.
