GEOSITE WATERFAL OF MISSÃO VELHA IS A TOURIST DESTINATION RECOMMENDED BY THE DIÁRIO DO NORDESTE

The newspaper Diário do Nordeste recommended Geosite Walterfal of Missão Velha as a tourist destination for vacations. It was posted in its Instagram a publication about the natural beauty and changes in the landscape that composes the territory of the Araripe GeoPark, due to the rains that have occurred in recent days.

The Geosite Waterfal of Missão Velha, besides being one of the oldest in the region of Cariri, has a charming waterfall of 12 meters formed by the Salgado River. The natural attraction makes the place one of the main points of visitation during the rainy season, and after a long period of drought, returned to its dazzle visual.

GEOPARK ARARIPE HOLDS ITS 16TH EDITION OF THE VOCATION COLONY 

GeoPark Araripe held on January 25th, 26th and 27th the 16th edition of the Vacation Colony, which occurs twice a year. The project consists of play activities with the aim of amusing the children through environmental education.

During the three days of programming, the participants got involved in workshops on drawing and making toys, games and storytelling. The vacation colony also had the participation of students of the Theater course of URCA – Regional University of Cariri, who promoted a workshop of Theatrical Games and Toy Art, where children made drawings and, based on these draws, built their toys, and also with a visit to the ICMBio Headquarters In the Araripe National Forest with a picnic with the children.

GEOPARK ARARIPE PREPARES 2017 SCHEDULE FOR GEOPARK DEBATE

GeoPark Araripe defines the 2017 schedule for the GeoPark Debate. Started in 2016, the project consists of monthly meetings between regional personalities and the community to discuss cultural, religious and interest issues for the population.

For this year the agenda will have names like Alemberg Quindins, of the Casa Grande Foundation; Rosiane Limaverde, from URCA and the Casa Grande Foundation and Michel Macedo Marques, from URCA and Araripe GeoPark, among others.

​

The themes are also diverse and rich in regionality. We will have talks about Archeology of the Kariri People, Fossil Traffic, Cinema and Autoral Music of Cariri.

GEOPARK COMMUNICATIONS SECTOR ARARIPE HOLDS MEETING TO SET AGENDA 2017

On February 9th was held a meeting of the Communication sector of GeoPark Araripe to define the agenda and strategies for 2017.

​

Present at the meeting were the Executive Director, the Executive Secretariat, the Coordinator and the members of the sector, and discussed the event calendars of the year, ways to better serve visitors at the Araripe GeoPark and new ways of communicating with Community, in addition to projects and research for the sector.

CONFERENCE OF THE SECRETARY OF CULTURE OF CEARÁ HAPPENS AT ARARIPE GEOPARK

The conference organized by the Secretary of Culture, Fabiano Piúba, together with the Secretary of Culture of Ceará - SECULT, it occurred in the auditorium of the GeoPark Araripe on February 10, were discussed the new projects and government programs on culture for Ceará.

​

Were present the secretaries of culture of the region, masters of the popular culture, representatives of points of culture and representatives of Pro-Rectory of extension of the Federal University of Cariri - UFCA.

​

During the event, several proposals were presented, among them the creation of a culture office at the state and regional level, where Dane de Jade, who was once Secretary of Culture of Crato, will be responsible for organizing the Office of Culture in Cariri. Also presented by Secretary Fabiano Piúba articulation for the resumption of the Regional Forum of Culture, and an upcoming event, which will take place in March, where the Culture Plan will be presented in the form of a seminar.
