ARARIPE GEOPARK WORKS OUT RACE CIRCUIT WITH CARIRI EXTREMO

The month of March will be filled with action and adventure with the 1st Race Circuit Araripe GeoPark, the same will be worked out by Cariri Extreme in partnership with the Araripe GeoPark. This is the first edition of a planned total of three circuits, the first will be held in Juazeiro do Norte. More than 200 athletes will be divided over two days to participate in various modalities included in the Race and the Mountain Bike.

Cariri Extremo was created as a model for the first XCM MTB race in the region, in the style of the great races in Brazil. Currently Cariri Extreme is a multi-sport festival that has MTB, Duathlon, Trail Run and Kids Mini Race events, giving all types of athletes an opportunity to participate in this range of options, together with well-being and quality of life.

ARARIPE GEOPARK IS PARTNER OF COINCISA

The International Congress of Health Sciences in Cariri - COINCISA aims to contribute to the formation of increasingly qualified professionals, so that they can act in an ethical and responsible manner, being able to collaborate in a positive way in attending to society and in the growth and recognition of the its role as a professional citizen, providing a differential for academics and professionals in its areas of activity, with a new course proposal, which includes teachers of the highest qualification and internationally renowned.

The participation of  Araripe GeoPark will be with the tourist receptive of the region, in order to promote the project within the event and optimize the experience in the territory. COINCISA is intended for academics and professionals in Physical Education, Physiotherapy, Nutrition, Nursing and other related areas, with an interest in expanding the knowledge of Physical Activity and Health. This Congress seeks scientific support for the academic community, reinforcing the need to improve the actions of all of us in our activities and to make even more distant from the possibility of "leaving Cariri in the Last Transport".

ARARIPE GEOPARK WILL BE PRESENT IN THE EXHIBITION '' O NORDESTE É AQUI ''

March 1st will be the launch of the exhibition "O Nordeste É Aqui", held at the renowned OLIDO gallery in São Paulo-SP. Having as central theme  Father Cícero Romão, Chapbooks and  Araripe Geopark. People will be able to observe for a couple of months a little more about the life and trajectory of Father Cícero Romão, the history of chapbook and  be enchanted with the beauties of the Araripe GeoPark.

The curator of the exhibition is the journalist Marcelo Fraga, also with the exhibition presents the relics of Padre Cícero Romão Batista, Chapbooks from various northeastern states and handicrafts such as: leather handbags, sandals, vests and other Northeastern confections.

​

During the program will also be held Ecological and Sustainable Craftshops and at the weekend Chapbook writers who live in the capital of São Paulo will be making presentations of their work in workshops. The event is a great option to get to know the culture of the Northeastern people and the history of the priest, who would turn 174 years old on March 29.

I GEA EARTH MOTHER IN THE STATE PARK SÍTIO FUNDÃO AND  BATATEIRAS GEOSITE WITH LIVING IN THE COMMUNITY

The coordinator of the Environmental Education sector, Neuma Galvão, is organizing the 1st Gea Terra Madre in the Community in partnership with the Sítio Fundão State Park and in commemoration of the 10 years of the Park, were called to perform a remarkable action in the community. Members of Environmental Education are organizing experiences with ecological trails and involvement with the surrounding community.

The visits will count on conversations in the houses of the residents where the story of the State Park will be divulged, with photos and activities geared towards the theme Earth Gea Mother of 2018, Earth Life, theme of the year proposed by UNESCO. There will be professionals guiding about the flora and fauna of the region, several workshops for the population, among them, replicas of fossils, clay in the beauty, cloth book, painting of the  Araripe Manakin and more. Where in addition to participating in such activities, people will be able to learn a little more about the history of this place and experience environmental education in the Araripe GeoPark.

XII SINAGEO CARIRI

The XII National Symposium on Geomorphology - XII SINAGEO with the theme "Landscape and Geodiversity: the valorization of the Brazilian Geomorphological Heritage" will be held at the Convention Center of Cariri, in the city of Crato, State of Ceará, from 27 to 30 June. May 2018, with fieldwork / pre-event trails from May 24 to 26.

​

The XII SINAGEO intends to stimulate debates through Conferences, Round Tables and presentations of works on a wide range of aspects of geomorphological science, distributed in the 10 thematic axes, and will have round tables on subjects such as Path Dynamics and Pedogeomorphological Interactions, Planning Environmental Education, Geomorphology Teaching and Geomorphology Training, among others. Some of the biggest names in current geomorphology in Brazil and Portugal will be in the XII SINAGEO in Cariri. The event will also include a visit to the territory of the Araripe GeoPark.
