On June 7, the exhibition "Giants Kariris, a flight through the Paleoart" had its opening night. The exhibition features particularities and native species that inhabited the region of Cariri in the Jurassic Era, it involves recent paleontological discoveries in the region associated with art and creation. It invites the public to an overflight on Kariri lands, passing through the six cities which are part of the Araripe GeoPark. It has time as an object of research, construction, study and analysis, since this will be a traveling exhibition with the duration of two months, meanwhile one of the pieces will be concluded by the end of the exhibition, after passing through several places and be appreciated by the public. The piece named Santanaraptor was a species that inhabited the region of the Araripe GeoPark in the beginnings.
The artist responsible for these creations is the craftsman Francisco dos Santos, who, as a child, craved for knowledge about those who inhabited the prehistoric Cariri, it was then that the idea of creating replicas of those who lived here arose, using as instruments art associated to numbers, to geometric forms, to symmetry, and it can be observed in their model plants of creation, also exposed as object constituent of the exhibition. As curator we have the executive producer and theater teacher Edvânia Martins. The realization of this exhibition was an initiative of the artist who had the partnership of GeoPark Araripe, the assistance of the Virtual Atlas of Prehistory - AVPH and was supported by the Centro Cultural Banco do Nordeste do Brasil-CCBNB.
