The stand of Geopark in Expocrato 2016 was the subject of reports on TV news. The reports highlighted the importance of the institution for the region and showed in detail the exhibition of this year, which had the theme, by suggestion of Unesco, legumes in the context of the Geopark.
The exhibition had models of the nine geosites which are open to visitors throughout the year, structures that represent the wealth natural heritage of the region, a regional bodega where the species of legumes was showed, the ones that is most importante for local culture. Were also exposed exsiccatae legumes, it had a artistic and educational workshops and space for our partners as Cariri Creative, The Academy of Cordelistas of Crato, Lira Northeast, the Doll makers of mangos tree and Brown Sugar Culturarte.
Still it was shown the 1st Contest of photography of GeoPark Araripe, whose theme was the same of the booth, and th 1st Cordel Literature Prize sponsored by the Regional University of Cariri - URCA.

The booth of Geopark in Expocrato 2016 was a success! The exhibition mounted in the CIEA - Interpretation and Environmental Education Center was one of the most visited in the event.
Within the exhibition had a reserved space for children to paint and draw pictures, as well as the Araripe Soldier, specie of bird native to the region. The photo contest was featured and made more than 1.200 valid votes.
Another highlight was the participation of Geopark partners for sale of handicrafts and dissemination of local culture and the Sound Stage of Urca that was installed on the outside of the booth attracted even more visitors to the booth, which this year accounted for more than 8,000 visitors.

The 1st Contest of photography of GeoPark Araripe occurred this year during the period of Expocrato.
The competition theme was "Legumes in the context of Araripe GeoPark" and the photos were exposed throughout the Expocrato’s week in GeoPark booth where visitors who passed by could vote in the one that they liked the most.
In total more than 1.200 valid votes and on Saturday, July 16, was announced the results of the competition in the Sound Stage of Urca which it was located on the outside area of the Interpretation and Environmental Center of GeoPark.
The winners were:
1st place: Eric Andrei Arraes with the photo "Arupemba”
2nd place: Alana Maria Brito, with the photo "More love, please"
3rd place: Ricardo Alves da Silva, with the photo "Weight, price and measure"

The training with the News interns of GeoPark, begin its final stage, before starting the internship itself, when each intern will work in the sector whose was selected for.
In the last two weeks of the month the interns had the opportunity to have a series of talks with some coordinators to elucidate about the rocky formation, culture and economics of the region and on scientific production in various areas involving the GeoPark and also with the administrative core of the institution, represented by the Executive Director, Prof. Marcelo Martins Moura-Fé who spoke about Geoconservation, the Superintendent of GeoPark and Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Francisco O 'de Lima Junior with a lecture on Regional Economics and the Dean of URCA, Prof. José Patrício Pereira Melo to be attached to the project from the beginning, told a little about the history of GeoPark.

Activities of Vacation Camp
The Araripe GeoPark holds another Vacation Camp this July. On the 27th, 28th and 29th the CIEA - Interpretation and Environmental Education Center received children with ages between 5 and 14 to participate of popular games, among other activities.
On the 27th there was a isogravura workshop, adapted from the woodcut technique and on the 28th there was a kite workshop. To end the activities on the 29th there was a visit from ICBM Bio and a treasure hunt on the park.
