The Araripe GeoPark received last Monday, August 8th, the students of Senac Tourism Technician course to visit its headquarters and were welcomed personally by our director, Prof. Marcelo Moura Fe, in order to sign the agreement for the entire class to perform a supervised internship at Araripe GeoPark throughout the month of September.
The course, which is now in its 5th class, is coordinated by the geographer, Professor Luciana Lacerda, who was also present during the visit and coordinated the presentation of students' own projects. These projects will be developed during the training, with the projects and actions that are being developed in Araripe GeoPark. Welcome!

The TV Verdes Mares Cariri held a story highlighting the scenic beauty of GeoPark Araripe, focusing on the Site State Park Fundão, managed by SEMA (Secretary of State for the Environment and Natural Resources), and Geosite Batateiras in Crato city -CE. In addition to the legends and all the history that surrounds this geosite, the area holds unique landscapes, covered three biomes: the Caatinga, the Cerrado and also vestiges of the Atlantic Forest.
The report included statements of GeoPark Araripe, represented by the Executive Director, Marcelo Moura-Fé, the Tourist Guide Vera Torres and professional photographer, Nívia Uchôa, which has more than 20 year career photographing the ethnographic and anthropological beauties of the region Cariri, Ceará and Brazil.

Last August 16th, the core manager of Site State Park Fundão came to the headquarters of GeoPark Araripe to a meeting with our direction to make a new plan to promote improvements in the park and the Batateiras geosite, which lies within this Conservation Unit.
The meeting was attended Rose Mary Feitosa Macedo, manager of the site Fundão and Vera Torres, Tourist Guide, monitors the park, and the Prof. Marcelo Moura-Fé, director of the Araripe Geopark. Among the issues on the agenda, were discussed improvements to the physical structure, advertising actions and the possibilities of carrying out technical and historical studies of the cultural heritage and geodiversity that surrounds the site.

In the afternoon of Tuesday, August 16th, we received the Sebrae consultant, Édio Callou, at our headquarters in the city of Crato-CE. At the meeting it was discussed strategies for sustainable tourism development in the Cariri, including the Araripe GeoPark.
The strategies will be focused on tourist advertisements in Brazil and also for the development of sustainable programs in partnership with the private sector.

It took place in the auditorium of Araripe GeoPark, on August 15th, the event titled "August Meeting" with professional photographers and lovers of the Cariri photography, having as mediator the photographer Nívia Uchôa.
The purpose of the meeting is to do a photographic essay by Cariri and other regions of Ceará with lambe camera. One of the proposals of the meeting was also discussed about the general scenario of photography in the region.
XXIV MEETING STATE OF CEARÁ GEOGRAPHY STUDENTS 2016
The XXIV Meeting of State of Ceará Geography Students - 2016 takes place from August 16th to 20th in the Regional University of Cariri (URCA), on the campus Pimenta in the city of Crato and having field activities in the rural area of the municipality and geosite Colina do Horto, in Juazeiro do Norte.
The event has the support of GeoPark Araripe and a proposal for discussion: "The construction of a combative geography: between the student movement and the academy", with the participation of over 300 students from federal and state universities as UECE, UFC , UVA, Fafidam, UFRN, UNB, in addition to undergraduate students in Geography URCA, event host.
