GEOPARK CELEBRATES 10 YEARS IN THE NEXT SEPTEMBER
September 2016 will be a very important month for Araripe GeoPark as it is in this month that we have completed 10 years of existence. To celebrate being prepared a week with a special program.
The celebration week 10 years will feature round tables, lectures, short courses, workshops, cultural performances, visits to Geosites and more. It will soon be the schedule and the dates disclosed. The Araripe GeoPark invites everyone to participate in this party, which is all of us!

In the last 17 days the Araripe GeoPark received a visit from two world renowned researchers in the health field.
Professor PhD Diderichsen Finn, professor at the School of Medicine Universidadede Copenhagen, Denmark, and student of Social Epidemiology, and Prof. PhD Lia Giraldo da Silva, of the Oswaldo Cruz School of Medicine and University of Pernambuco Foundation researcher on Environmental Health, were at GeoPark and URCA at the invitation of Professor. Socorro Brito to meet the institutions to establish a possible partnership in research.

The Missão Velha Interpretation Centre held an action at the Centre for Rural Education Pedro Raimundo da Cruz (CERU), which is located in the district of Missão Nova.
In the lecture was presented the documentary "place where the sun rises the day", held in partnership with URCA, FUNCAP and was given a lecture by members of GeoPark operating in that municipality.
During this action, there was also the release of the III Contest Gea Mother Earth, held annually between municipal and state public schools that are in the territory of GeoPark Araripe (Crato, Juazeiro, Barbalha, Santana do Cariri, Missão Velha and Nova Olinda ).
URCA HOSTS SEMINAR PUBLIC MANAGEMENT AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

In the 17th and 18th of August (Wednesday and Thursday), the Regional University of Cariri (URCA) hosted the seminar '' Public Management and Sustainable Development - Opportunities for the Cariri ''.
Promoted by Furute Institute and conducted by GeoPark Araripe / URCA, Fundetec and the Court Municipalities in partnership with FUNCEPE, Fecomércio, Senac, ITTEG, ADECE and Government of the State of Ceará, the event was open to the public and had free subscriptions .
Topics discussed included tourism, public management, opportunities, sustainable development, among others, in order to help develop leadership skills and public management that can be used in the formulation and implementation of new management tools and procedures focused on solving strategic issues for the Cariri.

TV Diário held on Monday, August 22, a report in the CIEA - Interpretation Centre and Environmental Education Crato. The theme of the report was environmental education and fire prevention in the areas of environmental protection that are part of Araripe GeoPark.
Professor Neuma Galvão, which is one of the coordinators of Geoeducation Sector GeoPark, talked a bit about the activities that have been developed by the institution in the public awareness, and her student Karina Feitosa, who is a student of the Faculty of Education of URCA, corroborated speech emphasizing the importance of environmental education in basic education.

On Thursday, August 26, the PROEX - Pro-Rectory of Extension URCA launched the EEP - Environmental Education Program for the entire university.
The presentation of the PEAM was conducted by the Program Coordinator and teacher of the institution, Carlito Santos. It is expected to meet at least 7,000 students, 400 teachers and 300 employees. It will be held by the lectures program on diseases caused by improper disposal of solid waste and also a vaccination campaign against tetanus for the housekeeping staff. This program of the University that is working with the community on behalf of all for a better use of solid waste.
