DIRECTOR OF ARARIPE GEOPARK RECEIVES AWARD FOR ONE OF THE BEST THESES OF THE COUNTRY ACCORDING TO UGB

The Executive Director of Araripe GeoPark had his thesis awarded by the Brazilian Geomorphology Union - UGB as one of the best of the country. The outcome was released in September 2016.

The thesis seeks to understand the geomorphological evolution of Ibiapaba, analyzing their genesis processes and modeling, culminating with the presentation of conservation proposals, analyzing the genetic aspects and modelers of Ibiapaba and its surroundings, with the inclusion of the results obtained in the global geomorphological evolutionary context about structuring the Brazilian modeled and its Northeast.

On August 22th, in Araripe GeoPark Headquarters, happened a meeting between the Executive Director, Marcelo Moura Fé, the Executive Secretary, Lázaro Raniere and Carlos Eduardo, responsible for the project "The House of the memory of Santana Heroin"

The project involves the creation of the Community Museum in Inhumansem, district of Santana do Cariri which will host a permanent exhibition on the young Benigna. The partnership between GeoPark and the project increasingly firm for the organization of the collection and the dissemination of the project.

Students of the Regional University of Cariri - URCA are approved to participate in the program Euro Brazilian Windows Plus - EBW +, coordinated by the University of Porto, in Portugal and the vice coordinated by Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul - UFRGS. Ita was four students, three of the course of Production Engineering and one of a theater course.

On August 26th the students, along with the International Affairs Advisor Fábio Rodrigues, were greeted at URCA by the Vice-rector, Francisco do O 'de Lima Junior, who at the time congratulated them for their effort to break through the University of boundaries in his higher education, and talked about the challenges to be faced, as the distance from family and language barriers.

The historical exhibition 'Sérvulo Esmeraldo: The Line, The Light, Crato', by one of the greatest artists of Ceará history, was inaugurated on September 10th in the Regional University of Cariri (URCA), Campus Pimenta and at Hill's Seminar in Crato, his hometown. The event started the celebrations of the 88 years of the artist, in addition to the 30 years of creation of URCA.

Since last year the exhibition is being coordinated by the University, the Government of Ceará and Sérvulo Esmeraldo Institute, presenting the city with 58 artist's pieces, some of them unpublished, and which marks his return in big style with exposure on his hometown. The Rectory of Extension of URCA was the support for the realization of the organization and the exhibition installation. The exhibition remains open to visitors until the October 15th.

Urca and GeoPark Araripe participated in the Pilgrimage of Our Lady of Sorrows (Juazeiro) through the project “Urca in the Pilgrimage”, which is developed by the Institute José Morocco Research and Sociocultural Studies - IPESC, which has collegial coordination of Océlio teachers Teixeira, Renata Marino and Sislândia Brito.

Members of GeoPark Araripe, with the coordination of Neume Galvão professor, will talk about the cultural and social importance of GeoPark for the region, and on the Colina do Horto geosite, along with a fun and educational activities such as puppet theater, skin cleansing and painting Soldier Araripe.
