POSTAL STAMP IS RELEASED IN ORDEER TO CELEBRATE 10 YEARS OF ARARIPE GEOPARK

On November 21th of 2016, a Postal Stamp in order to celebrate 10 years of the Araripe GeoPark was launched nationally by the Post Office in an event at the Araripe GeoPark Headquarters in Crato, CE. At the occasion were several important personalities of the Post Office, Araripe GeoPark, Urca and Politics.

The celebration of obliteration of the stamps was conducted by the Post Office and honored two of the oldest collaborators of the Araripe GeoPark, the Coordinator of Geoconservation, Idalécio de Freitas and Coordinator of Geoeducation Neuma Galvão, for their contribution to the institution.

At the time, Professor Álamo Feitosa, from the Regional University of Cariri - URCA, gave a talk about the importance of studying and preserving the history of humanity that is written in the fossils that are found here in the region.

The initial printing of the stamps was 480 thousand, printed by the Coin House of Brazil and the special rubber stamp will be available until December 20 at the post office in Crato and then, goes to the National Post Office Museum in Brasilia.

EXTENTION OF THE REGIONAL UNIVERSITY ON CARIRI MAKES MORE THAN 30 THOUSAND PUBLIC ATTENDANCE

With more than one thousand public attendance, it was held last Friday, the Day 'D' of Social Responsibility, with realization of Pro-Rectory of Extension of the Regional University of Cariri (URCA). The event, coordinated by the Institution, had several partnerships for its accomplishment, and took place in Siqueira Campos Square, in Crato.

At the time, services were provided related to the legal orientation, through the Legal Practice Center of the Law School of URCA, guided by the Present Dad Project, haircuts, with SENAC, distribution of flyers with guidelines about the denunciations of cases of violence, produced by the Observatory of Violence and Human Rights of URCA, with the participation of project coordinators and trainees. In addition, Fire Department agents participated in the activities, providing public guidance to first aid, rescue and use of fire extinguisher. Members of the Araripe GeoPark, while providing clarification on the project in the area of ​​environmental education, gave also to the public a skin treatment with natural masks, with the clay workshop.

 

The adhesion to the event leads it to the gain of the Seal of Socially Responsible Institution, that can be used for a period of a year by the institutions that adhere to the mentioned event. The URCA has joined the national event since last year, with actions taken in public spaces of the city.

I GEOPARK DEBATE

It happened on november 09th, the 1th GeoPark Debate, with the theme “Geophilosophy in Cariri”. The event started a series of debates that will occur monthly in the Araripe GeoPark, with different themes that concerns the region.

The 1st GeoPark Debate, with the theme Geofilosophy in Cariri had the participation of the PhD Luis Manoel Lopes (UFCA) and Professor PhD Josier Ferreira (URCA), having as mediator Professor Phd. Marcelo Martins (URCA).

GEOPARK ARARIPE SEDIA SBPC PLANNING MEETING

On a Monday morning, November 28th, the first planning meeting for the Regional Conference of the Brazilian Society for the Progress of Science (SBPC) was held at the Araripe GeoPark, which will happen at URCA from May 2 to 6, 2017.

At the occasion there were members of the Superior Administration of the Regional University of Cariri and Comite of SBPC, including the President of the Society, Professor Helena Nader, and discussed the program of the event and visited the premises of URCA.

The meeting lasted until the next day so that the delegation could visit and get to know the region better and meet representatives from the other Higher Educational Institutes, that will attend the event in May next year.

URCA AND GEOPARK ARARIPE PARTICIPATE IN THE ART AND THINKING SEMINAR AT THE 18th CARIRI CULTURE EXHIBITION

During the 18th Exhibition SESC Cariri of Cultures, this for over years has accumulated a wide history linked to the training of artists and community with the realization of the Art and Thought Seminar. The activity took place on November 21st and 22sco, with the theme "Cultural changes in Cariri: A scenario of transformations and new perspectives", at the Teatro SESC Adalberto Vamozi, in Crato.

This year there were four round tables, such as: Round table 01 - "Cultural changes in Cariri: a scenario of transformations and new perspectives", which was composed by Regina Pinho - Regional Director of SESC Ceará (SESC and cultural changes), Patricio Melo - Dean of URCA, Francisco do O 'de Lima Júnior - Vice-Dean of URCA, Robson Almeida -  Pro-Rector of Culture of UFCA, Fabiano dos Santos - Secretary of Culture of the State of Ceará, and as mediator Pablo Manyer - URCA. Table 2 - "Cultural Equipment in Cariri", with the participation of Eduardo Saron - Itaú Cultural, Gilberto Freyre Neto - Cais do Sertão, Paulo Linhares - Dragon Institute of the Sea and Alemberg Quindins - Casa Grande Foundation and as mediator Carolina Campos - URCA. Table 3 - Memory and Heritage with the participation of Paulo Knauss - National Historical Museum, Márcio Harum - Centro Cultural São Paulo and Carvalho Araújo - Architecture and Design and as mediator Pablo Manyer - URCA. Table 4 - Popular Culture, Religiosity, Environment, Gastronomy and Handicraft '' with the participation of Fátima Pinho - URCA who spoke about religiosity, Marcelo Moura Fé - URCA who spoke about environment, Fátima Farias - UFC who talked about Gastronomy And Adélia Borges who spoke about design and crafts and as mediator Carolina Campos - URCA.
